Greeters – Richard Bedgood
Greeters/ushers welcome members and visitors to weekend Masses and other large gatherings, help people find a seat when needed, invite two or three people to bring the gifts of bread and wine to the altar, take up the collection, guide the flow of the Communion procession and distribute bulletins and other printed materials at the end of Mass.
The Greeter/Usher will be one of the first parishioners a visitor or fellow parishioner will meet. The Greeter/Usher must have the ability and gift to welcome everyone who enters the church with a smile and a word of welcome. The Greeter/Usher wear name tags to set them apart for their ministerial duties. They are asked to dress appropriately as ministers of the day.
The assigned ministers should arrive 25- 30 minutes before the scheduled Mass times.
The responsibilities of the usher are:
1] greeting and welcoming guests and parishioners;
2] assist with seating when needed,
3] assist with collection of monetary gifts,
4] choose various parishioners to process with gifts,
5] guide the flow of procession for Communion, and
6] distribute bulletins and materials at the end of Mass.
There are generally at least four greeters/ushers scheduled for each Mass.
